There is a discernible change in selection criteria of a large number of companies. Instead of selecting candidates predominantly from metros or carrying out comprehensive selection process at bigger places only, they have thought it proper to go to selected campuses in different smaller places also. Since even global and national companies have to act locally, they seem to prefer candidates with global or national outlook but whose feet rest firmly on the local soil. Knowledge of such candidates about local conditions and their networking with adjoining areas are assets which are being harnessed in larger interest of business. Their commitment level is perceived to be higher and rate of attrition among them is probably lower.
